As an Electrician, you must be able to:

• Install, maintain and fix machines and equipment hydraulic rollers, manipulators, welding machines, overhead cranes, etc.
• Trouble shoot and fix problems of all kinds in collaboration with the production and the staff employees.

• Read and understand electrical blueprint, schematic and norms.
• Perform the programming of different machine components: programmable logic controllers, speed variators, sensors, etc.

• Be able to wear tight-fitting respirator.
• Climb stairs and ladders; work at heights.
• Work in confined space.
• Lift and carry between 30-50 lbs, frequently and between 50-70 lbs occasionally.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach.
• Work above shoulders.
• Tolerate exposure to weather, hot/cold environment.
• Work a rotating schedule that allows you multiple days off in a row.
• Diploma / relevant training in Industrial Electricity or relevant training.
• Must possess your own tools.

As an Industrial Painter, you will work with a team where discipline and rigor are the highest priorities. You will perform tasks as assigned according to established procedures that support our high quality standards.

As a Skilled Laborer-Painting, you must be able to:

• Prepare and mix paint while respecting established procedures and specifications.
• Prepare the surface to paint by cleaning and sanding.

Interstates is growing, and we are currently seeking a full-time PLC Programmer to join our Support Team in Sioux Center, IA or Sioux Falls, SD.  The PLC Programmer will be responsible for control systems programming and implementation for our manufacturing clientele. Interstates seeks ambitious, innovative individuals with the ability to grow and maintain value-added relationships with our team and external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), and / or the HMI (Human Machine Interface), and databases, and thus could require programming in several PC languages
• Work within project teams consisting of clients, electrical engineers, control system programmers, and information system programmers to deliver integrated automation solutions
• Provide plant check-out, commissioning, and start-up services at customer sites
• Troubleshooting control system issues, helping support existing client applications, general client communication
• Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: 2 or 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or a related technical field. Or equivalent combination of education and related experience/training

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Knowledge in designing and developing control systems Knowledge in HMI / SCADA programming, and PLC programming
• Knowledge in the programming and configuration of Variable Frequency Drive
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Great communication (verbal, written, listening) and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing & mechanical systems
• Ability to be on call for after hour customer support needs 5-10% of the time

TRAVEL:

Travel will be required and will vary according to business requirements. Generally, travel will not be expected to exceed 25%.

• Data Collection- Traveling to industrial job sites to conduct electrical site audits by examining existing equipment and electrical systems
• Report Creation- Organizing data from job site visit by utilizing software packages to create analysis reports on the electrical system
• Report Review- Collaborating with electrical engineers and designers to review reports and identify risk remediation or mitigation techniques
• Label Installation- Printing and installing safety identification labels on equipment per the generated reports

Secondary Responsibilities

• Electrical Design- Utilizing plant system knowledge to assist in the design or mitigation of risks within the facilities
• Growing the team- training and mentoring future engineers and data collectors
• In all aspects of the position, this role incumbent will carry out his/her duties in compliance with organizational policy and applicable laws 
• Other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;
• Or one to two years' related experience and/or training;
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
